I am in need of hunting down an original concrete poem for a class. We are making a mach literary journal and it doesn’t feel honorable to publish a poem that can be found anyware else. So, I ask you my writing friends to take on this challenge and compose a concrete poem. I would like to see what you can come up with. We’ll take any type of concrete poetry, however, our magazine is geered toward the deaf community and ASL so those will be published first. All are welcome though. Sadly because we are a group of college students we cannot pay you. I am asking for volunteers who would love this challenge. Post your poem in the comments below if you would be so kind.
What is concrete poetry?
Per Wikipedia: “Concrete, pattern, or shape poetry is an arrangement of linguistic elements in which the typographical effect is more important in conveying meaning than verbal significance. It is sometimes referred to as visual poetry, a term that has now developed a distinct meaning of its own. As such, concrete poetry relates more to the visual than to the verbal arts and there is a considerable overlap in the kind of product to which it refers. Historically, however, concrete poetry has developed from a long tradition of shaped poems in which the words are arranged in such a way as to depict their subject.
